How do I manage my sensitivities that are intensifying as I age?

I’m an empath in my nineties. How do I manage my sensitivities that are intensifying as I age?

Answer: It is wonderful in so many ways that you are an empath in your nineties. Each day track your energy level with your intuition. Listen to your body and rest when it feels right. Try to get out in nature as much as possible to replenish yourself. Develop a daily meditation practice to center yourself. Do not get angry with yourself because of feeling limited in energy. At times, when your grandchildren visit be sure to take breaks to have alone time, nap and recoup your energy.

Self-care is essential. Each day read and practice a self-care exercise from Thriving as an Empath to keep supporting your own self-care and the kindness you show yourself. Try not to worry too much about anything, and focus on all that is good and beautiful in this world.

To calm stress and sensory overload, as well as to connect with love, I suggest practicing my heart-focused meditation. Begin by doing it once daily. Then you can increase the frequency. I depend on this heart meditation to center myself between patients and throughout the day. To relieve emotional and physical discomfort act quickly and use this meditation.

Close your eyes. Take a few deep breaths to relax. Then place your hand over your heart chakra in the middle of your chest. Focus on an image that makes you happy: a sunset, a daisy, the ocean, a dolphin. Begin to notice a growing sensation of warmth, openness and loving-kindness build in your heart area and flow through your body. Let this feeling soothe you and remove all discomfort. Toxic energy leaves your body as you become purified by love.

Sending my love to you,
