Summary of Article

Empaths can have a profound impact on humanity with their compassion and understanding. They’re able to sense vitality, happiness, and love in others and absorb those feelings into their own bodies. Conversely, they can also feel other people’s discomfort, stress, frustration, and anger, which can lead to illness and disease. The impact of an empath on the world can never be great if they don’t also commit themselves to doing inner emotional work. Learning to stop absorbing the energy and stress of others is key to an empath’s mission. There is a quickening in the world now where things seem speeded up. This means that it is time for empaths to embody their power and be the change the world needs.

In this article for Spirituality and Health, I share three steps from my book The Empath’s Survival Guide: Life and Strategies for Sensitive People to help keep you stay healthy, grounded, and empowered.
