Do you try to control the outcomes in your life to avoid unwanted circumstances? Can you admit when you’re wrong? Can you accept results without a fight, even when the results are not in your favor? These are just a few of the questions that show how difficult (or easy) it is for you to give up control. For many of us, just thinking about the word surrender quickly elicits feelings of tension and resistance. The notion of giving up control may feel counter-intuitive to what we have taught about how to create our dream life. But despite what we have been taught, forcing and pushing things to happen can actually zap our happiness and steal our joy. It can also impact our relationships with others.
