Ask Dr. Orloff

How can I tell the difference between an intuitive "yes" or "no"?

Question: Dear Dr. Orloff

I read your book Guide to Intuitive Healing and am impressed the info on intuition in it. When I am still and tune into my body, and think about a goal in the future, I get a quick jerk in my body. Is this an intuitive "Yes" or "No"? Could you please clarify this for me?
Thanks, I appreciate your help.

Answer: Dear Jay,

What a great question. It's important that you learn the difference between your own intuitive "yeses" or "no’s." In general an intuitive “Yes” is associated with feeling excited about someone, comfortable in your gut and there's a sense of energy or momentum moving your forward. A "No" is linked with a feeling that something falls flat, brings you down, or has no energy. A jerk in the body is often a sign of opening to intuition. Many people have that jerk when they close their eyes and tune in. You need to experiment to see whether the jerk is associated with other signs of "yeses" or "no’s" that I mentioned, which is a very worthy exploration to get to know your own intuition.
Have fun with this,
